Dematting
Matting is a condition that occurs when a dog's fur becomes densely tangled and knotted, and can result in pain, discomfort, sores, and other health issues. Matting is typically a result of repetitive friction against the fur without proper brushing and/or frequent grooming.
Light matting can often be safely brushed out with the proper tools, but more extensive matting typically cannot be brushed out without causing pain and discomfort to a dog, and must be shaved off.
Safety and comfort is always our top priority. If your pup has some matting, we can see what we're able to brush out once we have them on the table. Safely dematting a dog, whether it's by brushing or shaving, is a slow, tedious process. We charge $45 per hour for dematting. Any dematting charges that are added to a service are based on the amount of time it takes to safely and gently remove the matting.
