Frequently Asked Questions

***Visit our policies page for more answers, where we go in depth about our policies, why they're in place, and what they mean!***

This is my dog's first grooming experience with you--what should I expect?

We ask that you arrive no more than 10 minutes early to your scheduled appointment time. Upon arrival, we'll get you checked in and your groomer will come meet you and your pup. At check-in, your groomer will go over any questions they have about the haircut you desire for your pup, and any questions they have about your pup's grooming behavior and experiences. We ask that you share all questions and concerns freely, and your groomer will do their best to answer any questions you have. Once you hand off your dog to their groomer, you'll head out while we take your dog back to the grooming room. You're more than welcome to text us for updates, and oftentimes our groomers will reach out to you through the process--just offering updates or asking you any questions about your pup. Your groomer will send a text about 20 minutes before your pup is ready for pickup. This text will also include the total price of the service before tax. Please be on the lookout for that text, as we do not have the space for pups to stay longer than the time we have them scheduled. Upon pickup, your groomer will let you know how the service went, and you're able to ask any questions and make sure the haircut is to your liking. Payment is due at the time of pickup.

What payment types do you accept?

We accept cash or card only. All cards are accepted, including Apple Pay, but there is a 3% processing fee for all cards. Your total before tax will be sent to you in the pickup text we send when your dog is nearly finished with their groom.

How do I know which service to book for my dog?

We know it can get confusing! Full groom services are for dogs who get a full body haircut--they need length taken off everything. Some breeds that typically get a full groom include (but are not limited to): Poodles, Poodle mixes, shih tzus, Yorkies, Bichons, etc. Our bath and trim services are for pups who don't need length taken off the body, but maybe need their butt, legs, or belly trimmed up. Some breeds that typically get a bath and trim include (but are not limited to): Dachshunds, Golden Retrievers, Australian Shepherds, Newfoundlands, Bernese Mountain Dogs, etc. Our bath services are most typically for short hair dogs who don't need any fur trimmed, they usually just need a good bath and the occasional de-shedding treatment. Some breeds that typically get a bath include (but are not limited to): Chihuahuas, Jack Russell Terriers, Labrador Retrievers, Great Danes, etc. If you're unsure what service you need to book for your pup, you can always reach out to us via e-mail, text, or call, and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction!

What vaccines do you require?

An up-to-date Rabies vaccination is required for any dog who walks through our doors, as per the laws of Kentucky. We highly recommend getting your pup the Bordetella and Distemper vaccinations as well. We are cage-free, so there's always a chance of your dog coming in contact with another dog, and those vaccinations help ensure you're keeping your pup safe.

How long will it take to groom my dog?

The time a grooming service will take may vary. We try to keep every service between 1-4 hours, but the time varies depending on the size and behavior of each dog. We try to give you a good estimate of how long your dog will take upon drop-off, but sometimes things can take longer! We try to reach out if your dog will take us longer than expected, but you can always send us a text to check in on your pup and see about how much longer we may have on them.

Am I able to stay with my dog while they're being groomed?

No, you cannot stay with your dog while they're being groomed. We totally understand the anxiety of leaving your dog under someone else's supervision, but having an owner nearby can make the process much more stressful for the dog. A successful groom relies heavily on mutual trust between a dog and their groomer, and that trust gets weakened when a dog is aware that their owner is in the room and the groomer is the reason they can't reach them.

Why is my price different than what I was originally quoted?

Our prices are based on weight, but a lot of different factors go into a groom. We do have fees that may be added to your groom, and your groomer will make sure you're aware of them before pickup. Some dogs need a much slower grooming process than others, whether it be due to anxiety or health complications. We do charge for extra time added, as our pricing is based on the typical amount of time a service for that weight range would require. We charge for extreme matting as well, as matting removal is a delicate process, that also tends to cause damages to equipment. We also have handling fees, which are based on the dog's temperament. We care first and foremost about your dog's safety, but our groomers may add extra fees based on their own discretion. You can learn more about our policies and fees under our "policies" tab.
